Perhaps I am being stupid, but I can not locate anywhere to change the map size. As it is, the default size is good for one room of a dungeon at best. Definitly could not make a nice dungeon with plenty of sharp lookin objects on one map. Nor can I find anywhere to adjust the sive of the objects.

Am I being stupid?

We will be adding features to Dungeon Crafter III as we go. We decided that would be the best way to go, instead of endlessly developing and never getting anything out to you, like happened on DC2.

Map size will of course one of the first things to be added. However, I do not understand your statement that you can only fit one room on the map. The scale of DCIII is fixed, it is quite a bit larger than it was in DC1 and DC2. Look at the example screenshots on this site to see how we intended to bring out the DCIII scale.

I agree the current map size is small, this also has to do with the program's current performance, DCIII slows down on complicated maps. As the performance is optimized as we go along, the map size can and will increase. In a coming release, users can set map size when starting a new map or in the options dialog.

totally agree and problly the admin didn't understand that we speak about the limitaion of a 15*15 grid.
Is too small, it cannot be used for an entire dungeon.

personally when i saw DC3 a was enthisiast for tile sets and features, but i disistalled it and returned to the old fashion DC 1.4 beacuse a gird of 15*15 is almost useless.

I hope that my poor english have given the idean of what i mean Very Happy

...anyway DC is great piece of software for all time dungen master Wink

Well if it's any consolation I got your meaning. Smile

I wouldn't say a grid of 15 x 15 is "almost useless" though. Actually, I would say the grid size makes it a pretty good companion to DC1.4 -- use the original to take care of general multi-room layouts and use DC3 for 'close-up' views of rooms that are of vital interest.

If anything's really limiting DC3 at the moment (in my opinion anyway) it's the lack of tilesets that would enable you to lay out something other than Frodo's rumpus room.

I like DCIII's detail, but yes.. its only good for one or two rooms at a time.

I LOVE DC1.4 .. i think is what it is. I use it now and would love to show off maps I have done.. Again, I'd love more for this version, like expandable map space so that I do not have to do sections, I've also worked in making a few tiles of my own but cropping other pieces of DC tiles. I think it needs some more angled things.. especially for outdoor walls. I've worked around that too though.

My main thing with DCIII is that ... there are such limited tiles and I have not really found anything for outdoor. I have not been able to share tiles from the other DC sets or anything, I might be doing something wrong though, I still prefer the older version.

Well it's hard NOT to like DC1.4... it's versatile (with the right tilesets), it's easy to use, and it can make a map quickly.

It seems to me that the main difference in the scope of DC1.4 and DC3 is that the original is more of an 'overview' whereas the new one is more 'specific detail.'

This is a neat program but you guys have GOT to find a way to make larger maps and add more objects, tilesets etc. I like this program and sincerely hope you guys will come out with an even better version. Nice job so far though..keep up the good work!
