The 3-D maps are just part of a tileset someone made. I sometimes have to do some tricky editing in Paint for some of the effects. (I don't have a fancier editor like Photoshop, so I'm somewhat limited in my editing abilities.)

Wow!

I just saw your maps "VanderborenManor1" and "The Cairn" and was really impressed.

Can I clarify, you did these in DC1.4 with a 3d tile set?

Thanks,

Craig

Right. There's a tileset called '3D Tiles' that has a shadow-effect around the walls, which are part of the tile. It can make some really pretty maps, but there are some combinations of tile/gap/door/wall that are missing.

I could probably do some creative editing in Paint to put in those missing combinations, but they don't turn up very often. No one in my game has nitpicked my maps; I think they just appreciate the fact that I'm not using some sort of monospaced font to depict everything. ("The ogres are the big letter O, right?")

Anyway, I've got even more maps on the site, 'cause I'm updating my games about twice a week and both are in combats right now — so my Photobucket is getting about four or five additions each week, though most of 'em are just alterations on an existing map.

Now that I think of it, I need to make full-scale maps of the areas they've been in, if the players are interested in having an archive of them. Time to go ask 'em.

Take a look at this site; it's where I store all the DC1 maps I make so that I can post them online. This will give you an idea of some of the tricks I've managed to pull with DC1.

The web site link doesn't work it relay to another site.

I've been using DC to do maps mainly for Heroes Unlimited and Rifts:

The Warrior's Temple in MercTown (Rifts) -- posted over at Explorers Unlimited.

The Mystic Guild house from the Heroes Unlimited Game Master's Guide.

I've also branched out into doing some stuff for Star Wars...

A size study for the Imperial Rapid Deployment Station from the old d6 RPG:

I've also been working on and off on developing a tileset using components from the designs found at the Star Wars Design Alliance.
